Interspiritual Contemplative Group

Interspiritual Contemplative Meeting - Third Sundays

Next Meeting will be November 16, 2025
6:30 - 8:00 pm

FREE!! FREE!! FREE!!

Religious and spiritual teachings and wisdom have proven to us that contemplative practice can provide powerful pathways to awareness, compassion, love, and “oneness”. Centering prayer, meditation, mindfulness, and “Lectio Divina” are just a few of the contemplative practices embraced by today’s mainstream traditions. These, along with other practices, allow us to open our hearts to self and to each other.

Zeitgeist's Interspiritual Contemplative Group creates an environment where persons of various faiths (or none) can gather monthly for contemplative practice and community building. Our group is purposefully designed to focus on personal experience and inter-personal relationships rather than institutionalized theology and doctrine.
How Does it Go?
1) We begin our gathering with a quick introduction, and basic instructions for anyone who might be new to sitting in silence. Experienced folks are welcome to offer coaching and tips for beginners. Newbies are always encouraged to ask questions!
2) We sit together in contemplative practice with 20 minutes of silence. Eyes closed or open, palms up or down, focusing on breath, mantra, or a special phrase - it's all good!
3) We then engage in discussion on the personal spirituality of our participants, or a topic that allows us to share experiences from each other’s spiritual perspective. Group facilitators gently guide discussions to ensure all voices are heard. The rich dialogue that ensues fosters interfaith/interspiritual friendship, understanding and growth. All this goodwill in 90 minutes!

We meet at ZG Headquarters in the Historic High House. Originally a family home, it's one of the oldest buildings in Atlanta (from 1830!). It's a living room vibe with comfy couches and chairs. We'll have coffee and tea.
Third Sundays from 6:30 - 8:00 pm
In person meetings held at ZG Headquarters, with free parking in the lot at the house.
